422 are a folk band and ceilidh band based in the North East of England. They play music from all over the world with a Northern English Bias.

Known for their extremely danceable rhythmic style, they are popular as both a concert band and as a ceilidh band.

Since winning the BBC Radio 2 Young Folk Award in 1999, they have released 3 Albums on Fellside Records, with a new one on the way "Go Forth" available from July 2010. All can be bought from Amazon or from Fellside's website, or your local specialist CD shop.

Having concentrated on playing for dancing for three years now, they are back on the scene playing concerts again, with highlights this summer being Whitby Folk Festival (including CD launch concert) and Shrewsbury Folk Festival.
