Electronic Symphonic is Jay Roecker's sophomore album delving into his passion for synthwave music echoing the past with a modern spin. The album is very introspective and personal. He welcomes you to turn each page of the story with each song on this continued journey of self-discovery and growth. The new album in 2023 ushered in 1.1 Million Spotify Streams, 173K listeners in 131 countries, 104K new Listeners, 1000% growth and 1,255 playlist adds for Jay’s catalog of music with global press coverage.
Jay started recording, working in collaboration with other artists under the band name "Members Only" in January 2012. It began as an 80’s cover band but quickly morphed into a band of original music. He earned his chops performing in Deep Ellum in the Dallas music scene as well as at SXSW in Austin. On his first album, "Labor of Love" all songs were written by Jay Roecker and Corey McCurry with the exception of Afterlife the one cover song written by Ingrid Michaelson and her team.
Jay Roecker formed Roecker Records to distribute the tracks. The first single, “Bucket Full of Crazy” was released in February 2013, followed by "You and Me" in June and "Thoughts of You" in July. Most songs for the debut album were recorded at Septien Entertainment Group, proving ground for such artists as Jessica Simpson, Ryan Cabrera, Nick Lachey, Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato. The releases including "Afterlife" released in December 2014 are a collaboration effort with production from Cutdown Trees and Video Direction by Boy Epic. "Afterlife" is the first cover recorded by Roecker and Members Only. Jay lost his mother to breast cancer in March of 2003. After hearing Ingrid's song, he felt inspired to record a version of the track. His perspective on life took a drastic shift upon his mother's loss. The idea that we must live for today and that we are the "Afterlife" spoke volumes to Jay. In fact, his song 'All We Have is Today' speaks of this very lesson and the loss of his mother.
Jay Roecker joined IHeartMedia in Los Angeles in 2018. He later moved to Austin in 2020. After much personal and professional transition, Jay's next single "Pour on Me" released December 21st, with much radio, playlist, club and social traction. The follow up single “A New Day for You” released 2/24/23. His Pour On Me (Remixed) Remixed EP released 3/31/23 with a dance promotion including Klubjumpers, Lenny Fontana, Chico plus Valimoor Remixes. His song "Sus" released 4/14/23 with video featuring Kiss FM’s Gossip Greg and artist Starlexia, while his full new album “Electronic Symphonic” released 4/21/2023 everywhere. Jay collaborated in tandem with Corey McCurry and Cut Down Trees on this musical evolution. While the first album was a gift to his inner child who always dreamed of releasing music.
