Power of the Dollar (feat. The Game & Jus Cuz) Lyrics

I'm from the hood where niggaz get locked
For trying to ...this shit
Skip this school
It's 8 dollars
More than scholarship shit
Mom ain't workin'
She's searchin' for jobs and shit
Crack is still high in the man
Givin' the whole truth
I'm losing hope soon
We played on the block for a minute
My phone blew

Real niggaz know that money form go often
Nigga everything stops
This hustle is mine set
Yeah, this life is hard
You will more from a night
Than you will get
Bust your ass all week for that little check
Now I execute this rap shit
Fluently how I handle
And these streets
I'm the best new artist
No competition at all
Ain't seen the first match
Since the drop of the ball

Niggaz
And one time for my niggaz locked up by the feds
Behind that paper chase man
It's free until they're free you niggaz

The power of the dollar
It's enough to shake the world that we're livin'
You feel pain of it
You feel pain of it
Momma always used to tell me
That it's changing me

The power of the dollar
Can't get it where I can't expect it
I ain't the same
Since it's a game
I accept it
I'll do anything, anything just to get that
The power of the dollar

It ain't nothin' but a Bentley to me
I've done crashed 6 of them motherfuckers
Since Dr. Dre fuckin' sent them to me
Compton, nigga, game is elementary
Rappers die, rappers hide whenever they mention me
My boss poetic
Any nigga can get it
Get that nigga 100 bucks
Since my first night in the meds
What's up?

Remember boys in the hood stayin' on the porch?
Nigga always had gang
Whether the block or the court
Glock in my shorts
And I remember that time
Take a shot to the dawn
Here's one to your memory
Yeah, here's one to your memory

The power of the dollar
It's enough to shake the world that we're livin'
You feel pain of it
You feel pain of it
Momma always used to tell me
That it's changing me

The power of the dollar
Can't get it where I can't expect it
I ain't the same
Since it's a game
I accept it
I'll do anything, anything just to get that
The power of the dollar

I can't take it
I can't take it
I'm just not the same no more
All this money
All this power
Just keeps takin' over me

Feel the power of the dollar
Feel the power of the dollar

Biography
When Franc Grams takes the stage, you would think he was a seasoned industry veteran. He oozes confidence and appears to be more comfortable in front of the flashing lights than most people are in their own homes. But pressure is nothing new to the twenty three year old hailing from the Boulder Drive housing projects in New London, CT. He has sold out theaters, sponsored recording projects through A “Give A Child A Mic” Foundation, started an annual talent show that has made history in CT donating thousands to arts based initiatives, you can find him currently opening up for Joe Budden and this is only the beginning for Franc Grams.
Determined to make his name synonymous with success, Connecticut bred artist Grams is about to embark on yet another journey with his current single, “Ready To Go.” Partnered with Don Diego Entertainment, Franc Grams is maximizing his local celebrity, packaging his talent and is landing on billboards and stages all across the U.S.
These days Grams has learned to loath the term local. “I feel like I owe myself an opportunity to bring my sound to the whole world, not just New London or even CT”. Grams set his sights on the national stage after catching the attention of famed Miami music powerhouse Slip n Slide Records. Grams even enlisted Slip N Slide DJ Correlation to help break his first smash single “Get like me”.
It is his work ethic and charisma, that sets Grams apart and above from most of the newer artists in the industry today. “Hard work is like a second language to me,” he says when asked how he has built a diverse catalogue that boasts close to 200 recordings. “I grind,” He states enthusiastically, “You don’t grind, you don’t shine”. “Grams wasn’t a word I stumbled across while in search of a stage name,” states Mr. Colmenares. There is a lot of meaning behind his moniker. The word “grams” is symbolic of the hustle; it just happens his hustle isn’t a street corner, its music. “I’m still selling Grams, he states”
Grams was raised by his mother in the Boulder Dr Housing of New London. It was there that he saw everything the outside world had to offer, from the glamour and glitz of the drug trade and all of its “allure.” He watched as his brother began to slip further into its clinches ultimately landing his older brother James (Hood) Bowers, in Corrigan Correctional Facility. However, not easily deterred by obstacles, Grams vowed to his mother and his incarcerated brother that he would one day afford them a better life.
Grams likes to tell everybody to “Go for yours, statistics are unreal, I am currently living my dream because I put forth the time and effort to make it happen, not because Read more on Last.fm.
