King Ghidra is a neo-psychedelic rock band formed by Ricky Ureño (guitar & vocals), Juan Silva (guitar), Eric Figueroa (bass) and, Ryan Alonso (drums) in 2023.
Their debut EP, "SUN/MOON," features 2 instrumental psychedelic jams that take you on an incredible adventure. From the soft opening of "The Sun" to the low fuzzy growl of "The Moon," nothing can quite prepare you for this. Both jams are inspired by the early years of Pink Floyd, The Beatles, and other great classic psych rock bands.

"Abstractions of the Universe" is a tribute to retro sci-fi and the classic metal, psychedelia, and prog from the 70s. Not necessarily achieving a metal sound but not quite fitting into classic psychedelic rock, King Ghidra carved out a unique and confident sound in the modern psych scene. Many of the songs on the album are written about or inspired by classic horror and sci-fi of decades past. Many of the influences on this album can be heard throughout while not being derivative, of which include, Black Sabbath, Pink Floyd, Frankie & The Witch Fingers, Orb, & other similar acts. The entire project was self recorded and self produced. The album was recorded on a miniscule budget mostly using gear that had already been acquired throughout the years.
