There are at least two Bands of this name. 1.) A Rockband from the Netherlands (2002-2009) 2.) A Stoner Rock Band from Bamberg/Germany (since 2019)
1.) At the start of 2009, Paralyzed decided to call it quits.
Since its foundation in 2002, Paralyzed has found a distinctive own sound. Their repertoire consists of powerful rock with a hint of metal and emo. The band members’ average age is 21.
These five give an energetic show with a clear message. The band has performed up to fifty times in- and outside the area, among others at De Kade (Zaandam), De Bakkerij (Castricum), Manifesto (Hoorn), Donkey (Heemskerk), Volta and Winston Kingdom (Amsterdam). For local radio they played an acoustic set. A performance on a qualifying round of the province’s pop price ‘Noord-Hollands Glorie’ in 2003 resulted in the people’s choice award.
In march of 2004, the first EP ‘A Taste of Life’ was released independently, followed by ‘The Day You Stole Gravity EP’ in may 2005. The mini album ‘What Goes for a Dream’, containing new material, will be released in the summer of 2007.
Paralyzed wants to play as many shows as possible to keep developing. Every song is performed with a lot of energy to let the audience not only hear, but experience the music.
‘The female vocalist has a good stage presence and voice … great song structures … catching youthful enthusiasm’ - Jury Winston Popprijs 2006
2) Paralyzed is a rock band from Bamberg, Germany formed in the spring of 2019. The group combines bluesy hard rock and stoner rock while intensely exhaling the vibe of the ’70s hard rock era, taking its cue from ’70s giants such as Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, The Doors, Steppenwolf, and Canned Heat. They recorded their first live-in-the-studio EP, Hidden Sun, in 2019. In 2020, Paralyzed released their self-titled album, relying on the energy of live recording and the mighty spirit of the ’70s. Their second full-length album, Heavy Road, ensued in 2022. Paralyzed is a vintage steamroller – you can’t escape from hearing them, and even more so getting under their electric spell.
The electric four-piece delivers a retro, groove-laden and unwaveringly heavy rock’n’roll formula, when frontman and guitarist Michael Binder’s riffing interweaves with psychedelic wah-wah solos combined with powerful gritty vocals, all backed up with Philipp Engelbrecht’s stomp-inducing grooves, and rhythm guitarist and organ player Caterina Böhner’s crunchy power chords and melodies. Drummer Florian Thiele’s powerhouse drumming lays the perfect foundation for this unique building. Read more on Last.fm.
