The Yummy Fur have been variously described as "Make-out music for pre-mature ejaculators" and "kraftwerk for people with an aversion to 'werk'"

This is an indication of the arc that the Fur have taken in their musical output, from the stuttering cartoon punk symphonies of the early singles to the studied 'noodling' of their late-period, electronica-washed Rock. Throughout their journey that, which is Fur remains vital and intact.

Their influence on other bands is well documented.
