Strunken White were a Indie Rock band with heavy influence from the D.C. rock scene, but also drew comparisons to acts that preceeded them in their hometown, such as Polvo & Spatula. The band consisted of Nagendra Jayanty (Guitar/Vocals), John Stickley (Drums), Noah Howard (Guitar), and John Booker (Bass).

Strunken White was a heavy indie rock band that became very well known in their flourishing North Carolina music scene from their inception in 1996 until the band broke up in 2001. The young ensemble played many shows in the Durham/Chapel Hill area over the years with many notable national acts including The Dismemberment Plan, Bright Eyes, Q and Not U, The Faint, and Boy Sets Fire. They released two critically aclaimed albums on Pennsylvania's Route 14 Records, 2000's "Lighting a Dark North", and 2001's "Paths and Points of Existence", which both recieved airplay on college radio all over the country, hitting number 1 at several stations. Since the band's demise, the members have gone on to participate in the groups Tiger Bear Wolf, Broke Mountain, Biscuit Burners, Big Fat Gap, En Garde, Darkness Under Depths, I Was Totally Destroying It, Marijuana Wolf, and io.

Guitarists Jayanty and Howard have recently teamed back up with bassist Booker(now on drums), and enlisted local musician Will Hackney on bass and rhodes, to form the band Transit Union.
