Emerging in 2009 as Australia’s freshest live dance act, Momenta are the band that no one expected yet everyone’s been waiting for. Their lifted mix of deep house, progressive breaks and electro pop is placing them at the forefront of a new movement of dance-floor songwriters.

Having shared the stage with Grammy award winning act De La Soul and Aussie artists Kaz James, The Galvatrons and Arts vs. Science, their distinct live show is a rich celebration of sonic pleasure, engaging charisma and blistering raw energy. The strength of which lies in more than deeply connecting to their audience, but in deeply connecting their audience to each other.

Recording their debut, self-titled EP with producer Woody Annison (pound system, children collide, red riders) the then 3-piece delivered a colourful snapshot of soulful dance pop. Luscious synths, rock and roll guitar and a soaring vocal, the EP is bold finding praise from both industry and punters alike.

Released in Feb 2009, the initial pressing sold out inside the first month of release and has since received airplay on NOVA and numerous community stations Australia wide.

But what makes this collaboration so exciting is their fearless commitment to share the music. Not content with playing to sell out audiences in clubs, the band is taking the party to the people. With an elaborate mobile sound system, they have been performing live on street corners up and down the east coast, building a loyal grass roots following one street party at a time.
