THE UPPERCLASS MEN™ are a Brooklyn based Hip- Hop group that was founded in 2001 by Hollis "HD" Stephenson and Coy "Mr. Harris" Harris. As school mates who attended South Shore High School, they quickly formed a bond in Spanish Class that would go far beyond anything a text book could document.
After Hollis discovered that Coy could rap, he encouraged his ability to create as his own budding production skills grew. Time progressed and the two worked tirelessly on creating a sound that stood apart from anything that the Hip- Hop world had heard before. Through much trial and error, the final product became known as THE UPPERCLASS MEN™, a Hip- Hop collective that is noted for their in-the-pocket then loose flow, undeniable wit & attractive lyrics that spark their high performance energy.
THE UPPERCLASS MEN™ found their third member, Shareef "RS" Swindell, while free styling after a party with some of the partygoers. After added, the group was complete. Complemented by a live band, many fans have described them as "The Beastie Boys meets The Roots", after seeing a live show. Hollis's everyman flow, along with Harris's left field attitude and Shareef's bursting method of rhyming evoke a sound reminiscent of the best lyricists Hip-Hop has seen, while staying true to the feel of the group's identity and themselves.
THE UPPERCLASS MEN™ believe that a great deal of their friends, associates, and colleagues that they attended school with and people they are in the company of don’t understand who THE UPPERCLASS MEN™ are as people. THE UPPERCLASS MEN™ act, conduct, and think differently from most of them. The three animated images serve as the logo for THE UPPERCLASS MEN™ embodying the personalities of all three members. The ethos that THE UPPERCLASS MEN™ abide by is very unique and contrast most model hip-hop personas due to their extensive level of creativity, entrepreneurship, & diligence towards their vessel.
The collective also runs a website, known as THE LUNCH ROOM TABLE® (http://www.thelunchroomtable.com), which is an online blog that serves as a lifestyle magazine that brings forth the latest happenings in Popular Music, Urban Fashion, and Technology.
