Scythelord (Stylized as SCYTHELORD) is a thrash and death metal band founded in 2011 by Joel Johansson and his friend Frank. They describe themselves as a "international effort that combines the sonic assault of traditional thrash metal with the precision of modern production".

Joel, the vocalist, is known for his popularity for being a very popular streamer on Twitch. Which he does gameplays and other content outside of the band, which is where a good portion of this band's audience comes from.

Scythelord released their first album "Toxic Minds" on December 11th 2016, with an additional album that contained demo songs dating from 2011-2014 named "The Dawn of Harvest Demos" which came out on November 13th, 2017.

Joel also has a solo artist name: Vargskelethor, where he posts mainly humorous music either from his streams or outside of them. He also goes by this username on various other social media.
