Stemage (Grant Henry of North Carolina) is the creator of the highly-popular music project known as Metroid Metal, a metal interpretation of the Metroid video game soundtrack. Although Stemage originally recorded these songs under his own name with himself playing all instruments, he has re-recorded them with a five-person band, also called Metroid Metal. Some original songs are also credited to Stemage.

Although some have believed that Stemage was the name of a whole band, because of the fact that the songs consist of the full band sound, he is in fact, only one person. But, as his friend Ethan Hunter says, "He was a pretty greedy cat when God was handing out talent."

The album Metroid Metal is credited solely to Stemage, no doubt provoking much confusion. These are earlier performances, mostly solo by Stemage, of material later performed by Metroid Metal the band, and the album was released in a number of formats, including twelve-track, twenty-track, and twenty-two-track configurations.
