This is Graham Fenton's legendary Matchbox at their best! All 80s recordings from the Rockabilly Rebels! Six of the seven tracks on this mini-album are previously unissued, including a different version of their classic anthem "Rockabilly Rebel."

The CD starts with a real rocking version of Roosevelt Sykes' "Drivin' Wheel" followed by a greasy rock 'n' roll version of Bobby Womack's song "It's All Over Now" (originally by The Valentinos, and made famous by The Rolling Stones), this track sounds surprisingly nice, great piano solo. Next is a previously unissued version of Matchbox greatest hit "Rockabilly Rebel". Sounds good, but to be honest I prefer the original. Track four is the well known Echo Valley Boys' song "Washmachine Boogie", which was also on Matchbox' first LP "Riders In The Sky". This version has a nice TexMex kinda accordion in it, some great guitar art by Graham and a piano solo, real cool version. "Piggy Back Blues" is a beauty, why wasn't this issued before? "Blue Skies" is a Wild Bob Burgos song, which he wrote in lovin' memory of his mother in the early 80s. Bob Burgos was a member of Matchbox at the time their first LP was issued in 1976 and he's pounding the drums on this version too. Read more on Last.fm.
