The Saskatones play high-energy garage surf inspired by one of two topics: Canadiana and Godzilla.

The Saskatones met while playing Junior D hockey team in Saskatoon. After the three were accused of instigating a bench clearing brawl against the North Battleford team they were suspended indefinitely. Having their hopes of playing hockey shattered, the Saskatones found a new love playing rock n' roll. Their brand of canuck surf rock was a hit at outdoor hockey rinks and local donut stores (the last show they played was at the opening of a Tim Horton's in Moose Jaw).

After signing to Dadmobile Records in 2001, the band immediately stopped playing shows. Their only release to date is an EP of low-fi basement recordings, called "The Saskatones Rock Oot", that was released in 2002. The band has recently returned to the studio and is recording their proper debut album, "The Saskatones On Monster Island", at Dadmobile Studios in the winter of 2007. Read more on Last.fm.
