Theo Travis (born 1964 in Birmingham, England) is a British saxophonist and flautist.

Travis received his degree in flute and saxophone from the University of Manchester and has worked among others with Robert Fripp , Gong, Porcupine Tree, The Tangent, Bill Nelson , Bass Communion, No-Man, David Sylvian, Harold Budd , John Foxx ,Burnt Friedman and Dave and Richard Sinclair. Since 1999, he has recorded with bassist Dave Sturt and varying guest musicians in the band Cipher and, in 2006, he joined Soft Machine Legacy, a project based on personnel and works of the band Soft Machine, replacing the late reedsman Elton Dean. He is of significance to the worlds of jazz, ambient music and progressive rock in the United Kingdom.

Robert Fripp (born 16 May 1946) is a guitarist, composer and a record producer best known for being the guitarist for, and only constant member of, the progressive rock band King Crimson. His work, spanning four decades, encompasses a variety of musical styles. Fripp was ranked 42nd on Rolling Stone magazine's list of the "100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time" (published August 2003). In 2010, Fripp was ranked #47 on Gibson.com’s Top 50 Guitarists of All Time.

In 2008, he collaborated with Theo Travis on 'Thread', an album of guitar & flute or saxophone duets. They also did some live concerts in England in mid-2009 in support of that album.
