Naoki Nishi (Japanese; circa 1960) is a Japanese jazzpianist.
Naoki Nishi worked in the band in the 1980s drummer Takeshi Inomata, with which he entered in 1981 Los Angeles an album with Harold Land recording (Dear Harold My Friend, 1981). His debut album My Little Suede Shoes (record label Fullhouse) he recorded in 1980 with a trio, with Kazuyo Yamaguchi and Takeshi Inomata. This record was followed by A Giant from West (1980, with Osamu Kawakami, Mike Reznikoff), an album with standards as "On Green Dolphin Street", "Someday My Prince Will Come" and "Ugetsu". In the following years he played with Terry Mizushima, Kohji Fujika and with saxophonist Tatsuya Takahashi. The latter also participated in his third album Straight No Chaser (1981, with Osamu Kawakami, Takeshi Inomata). In the 90s he continued to play with Shin'ichi Katō and Chiaki Ogasawara. In jazz, he was involved in 18 recording sessions between 1980 and 2005, including one of Kōsei Kikushi. Read more on Last.fm.
