In 1976, Akiko Yano elevated Japanese music and culture into her own unique expression with her debut album "JAPANESE GIRL," and in her subsequent activities, she has taken a borderless approach to incorporating the essence of traditional Japanese music, such as performing nursery rhymes and folk songs with new interpretations and arrangements. Hiromitsu Agatsuma is one of Japan's leading shamisen players, and while respecting tradition, he has continued to promote "tradition and innovation" both at home and abroad through borderless activities that transcend genres and borders. September 2014, they performed together in New York, and the innovative stage they wove together was met with ovation and praise. In 2015, they returned to Japan for a triumphant performance.
In 2018, Akiko Yano released "Rose Garden" as a new style in collaboration with Hiromitsu Agatsuma on her latest album "Let's Go Futaribocchi."
