Superfuzz is an alternative rock band from Denmark. They play noisy hard rock (in the vein of bands like dinosaur jr.) with a focus on intelligent songwriting, special chords and very fuzzy guitars and bass. The band formed in 1994 and released an award winning self titled album in 1998. For some years the band has been on hiatus, but recently the band has revived with a new line-up containing only Michael Gersdorf (bass, vocals) from the original band. The new lineup has played several shows in Copenhagen and are now recording material for a new album. Superfuzz is also an electro-funk band which released only one album (Godzilla) in 1998 and seemed to fade into obscurity, though they supposedly relocated to Japan and continued to play shows there. Since then, nearly all traces of their existence seem to have been erased from the internet. Their sound has been described as "campfire-funk party-pop," though some of their tracks could be filed under "ambient" as well as "drum & bass." They are probably best known for their cover (and subsequent remixes, all featured on the same album) of Blue Öyster Cult's "Godzilla." Read more on Last.fm.
