The Berlin Blondes started making a name for
themselves in Glasgow,Scotland, in 1979. At a time before the phrase new romantic was coined,they where performing in the popular Mars Bar Club, where they frequently played with such bands as the Simple Minds,The Zones,and many other Post-Punk bands of the time.

Rudden left the band when they signed to EMI and went on to form Endgames,at which time the band recruited Bass virtuoso Nick Clark from The Cuban Heels. During this same period of time Spender(McKinven) soon left to play guitar for Glasgow new-waver's Altered Images.
