Dre The Fifth

An American rapper from California’s Bay Area. His musical influences are Tupac, Xzibit, San Quinn, Andre 3000, Nas, E-40 and Ludacris. His production chops were honed as a drummer in church and playing for several R&B Acts in the S.F. Metro. Under the guidance of his youngest Uncle, he was introduced to Cornell Green who recorded Dre the Fifth’s first group effort “Keepin It Green” as a member of “Somethin’ Serious”. The album reached a fair amount of local success, yet the group disbanded two years after its release, due to various legal complications. In 2006 He appeared on the mixtape Area 51-0 resulting in a standout performance on “Cant Let It Go”. After a break, in 2008 he landed another feature on “Couple Hunnid Holograms” from Krypto on Pieces To My Puzzle, with fellow “Something Serious” member Riff-Raff aka Sly Russ. The project was critically acclaimed and nominated for album of the year at the BARS Awards. With a renewed drive and dedication he recorded and released his first full length solo album “CONTRADICTION” on I-80 Media Group in 2012. The release was quite successful with no radio or video promotion earning him many slots on Bay Area and Southern Cal projects and as an opening act to some of California’s more established independent artists.
