Jodi Phillis and Tim Oxley became friends at Mambo Graphics where they both worked in the late 80's. They both played in separate bands in Sydney's inner west and eventually discovered their mutual love of harmony singing, elaborate melodies and meaningful lyrics. When they weren't busy recording and touring with their other bands, (Jodi in The Clouds and Tim in The Verys), they sang and played on each others solo albums, played gigs together, then formed The Dearhunters in 1999, releasing one gorgeous album, Red Wine and Blue which was extremely well received by critics and fans alike.
It wasn't until 2001 that they fell in love, got married and got domestic, with two daughters and a recording studio, (The Kitchen Recording House) in their home. It was a foregone conclusion that they form a totally collaborative identity, which is how Roger Loves Betty came to be. Roger Loves Betty have released two independent albums, Let Love Begin and Circle Suckers and Bubblestars. Both albums are full of what they feel to be their best work yet.
Tim and Jodi create music every day. Moving into the world of making music for the screen was a smooth transition, enabling them to utilise their melodic talents. The couple work on a Pro-Tools system. Tim and Jodi also record and produce other artists. Read more on Last.fm.
