With Hidden Noise is the solo-project of Charlie Berger, a musician/artist from Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

Fully embracing a love of music, Charlie has been singing in bands for most of his life. In his time as a musician, Charlie has had the opportunity to open for such bands as Death From Above 1979, Q and not U, Enon, Black eyes, Don Caballero and many more.

Charlie has been in a number of bands over the years spanning a variety of different genres. With Hidden Noise was a project that was always in the background and served as a means for Charlie to write music and explore influences outside the rigid genres often imposed by the bands he was in. For Charlie, With Hidden Noise represents the total freedom of musical expression in which any idea can be explored.

As “With Hidden Noise” Charlie writes, performs and records the music all himself in his humble apartment. Recently, Charlie has brought his With Hidden Noise project to the foreground with the release of his first full-length album.

Being very much into the DIY approach, Charlie also creates his own album artwork, videos, etc.

With Hidden Noise is influenced by a wide array of sounds, from 50’s and 60’s baroque pop, (Beachboys, the Zombies ), to slowcore bands like Low, shoegazy stuff like Slowdive and folkier stuff along the lines of Songs of Green Pheasant.

On May 1st, 2011, With Hidden Noise released the album “Married to the Sea” for free download as a gift to friends and people out there who enjoy the music WHN creates. Charlie believes that his music is something to be shared, heard and (hopefully) enjoyed.
