There are at least two bands by the name of Extra Stout. The first being formed in Hawaii in '97 by four guys with two things in common; a love for punk rock, and a certain alcoholic beverage. Since then there's been more line-up changes than most bands could survive, one LP, and two tours. The second LP is on hold, as they've decided to re-record it. Current member standings are Mike Stout- Vocals; Steve - Guitar; Adam - Guitar; Hakie- Bass; Giovanni- Drums/Vocals.
Influences include The Clash, Stiff Little Fingers, Menace, Cock Sparrer, Ramones, Combat 84, The Adicts, Swingin' Utters, and The Pogues.

The second
Extra Stout is a Toledo, Ohio, band with Irish American roots. We were formed in March 2000 by a group of friends who had played together previously in the "Bluesberry Jam Club". Our group explores the classic themes loved by the Irish: sailing, loving, a little rebellion, and sharing stories over a pint with friends or a drop o' the pure. Guitars and vocals are supported and expanded by banjo, concertina, mandolin, pennywhistle (tin whistle), and bodhran to evoke the sounds of Ireland. Love of the Irish music, combined with our Great Lakes roots and a mission in life to "just have fun" make our performances unique and entertaining.

Irish Music has been influential in many areas of American music, and Extra Stout's Irish roots have American branches. Without a lot of extra effort, we can serve up a mix of country, blues, and classic rock & roll that will keep a party, festival or club jumping right up to closing time. Read more on Last.fm.
