futurebae (real name Lina Winter) is a German rapper from Berlin.

futurebae comes from a village in Schleswig-Holstein, later lived in Erfurt for a long time, and eventually moved to Berlin.

Her connection to music came especially through her father, a passionate Irish folk musician. During her youth, she was influenced by Destiny’s Child, No Angels, and Atomic Kitten. Her first contact with rap was through Sabrina Setlur, Freundeskreis, and Blumentopf. At a young age, she took singing lessons. At first, she was unsure whether she could really sing and write her own lyrics. After moving, she met music producers and people from the industry who encouraged her to go public with her music.

She first gained attention with the viral TikTok hit Copa Cabana. Early on, she released collaborative tracks with artists like Tropikel Ltd, Tom Thaler, Dissy, Tilmann Jarner, and MOAN.

Even before her debut album, she performed at numerous shows and on tour — including with Antilopen Gang, Fatoni, or Roy Bianco & die Abbrunzati Boys — and appeared at festivals such as Splash and Lollapalooza.

In 2023, she released BLA (Berlin Love Affair), her debut album on Virgin Records.

Futurebae’s music doesn’t fit neatly into a single genre. According to Pop-Kultur, it’s a mix of electro-pop, minimal hip-hop, dancehall, and leftover Neue Deutsche Welle. By her own account, she doesn’t want to be tied to any genre and describes her music as a "genre-fluid firework". Read more on Last.fm.
