Hermine Deurloo

Hermine Deurloo, born and bred in Amsterdam, was smitten by the jazz bug at an early age. She completed her studies at the Sweelinck Conservatory on alto saxophone. Shortly after, she received a chromatic harmonica as a present. It was love at first bite.
She is now much in demand as a soloist and session musician. Hermine has played with the Metropole Orchestra, the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, and with such distinguished musicians as John Engels, Al Jarreau, Toots Thielemans, Denise Jannah, Loes Luca, and Tony Scherr.
She has toured the world in the last seven years as a member of the Willem Breuker Kollectief, giving concerts in Japan, America, China, Indonesia and Europe.
With this band she made 3 CDs (Honger-1999, Dorst-2001 and Misery-2002) and 2 DVDs (Jona-2004 and Faust-2005.
Hermine has played on various film soundtracks (Puk van de Pettenflet, Erik of het klein Insectenboek) and television themes (Vreemde Kostgangers, RTL4 and Talpa) and the theme for the Unox advertisement.
In 2005 she recorded an album with grammy nominated guitarist/singer/bassplayer Tony Scherr. This album; Crazy Clock will be released in 2006.
Hermine is currently working on her next album with bigband together with producer Reinder van Zalk.
