An electifying garage monster mash (of the vampiric sensibility), Revolver Modèle was from Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA and acted much like the city's one-band "dance rock noir" scene. They performed their final concert in the summer of 2009.

The Twin Cities area spawns far more bands that are "Pitchfork indie," along the lines of Tapes 'n Tapes so Revolver Modèle definitely stood out as unique. Lead singer Ehsan Alam had a stage presence that was a spastic hybrid of Suede's Brett Anderson and Joy Division's Ian Curtis. His deep, crooning and warbling vocal stylings and lyrics were - for lack of a better term - distinctively goth. Guitarist Mikal Arnold was the band's instrumental mastermind and used his nack for modernized new wave/post punk guitar riffs that were as slick as they were driving and danceable. Arnold's chops were along the lines of a "Dog Man Star" era Bernard Butler with a heavy dose of dance in the Gang of Four ethic. The band also featured Natasha Hassett on bass and Michael Moore (no, not the documentary guy) on drums.

Revolver Modèle admited to being theatrically and thematically pretentious, but were always energetic and crowd pleasing at their concerts. Wearing inspiriations on their Elizibethan sleeves such as My Bloody Valentine, Joy Division and Suede, Revolver Modèle released two albums, the appropriately named "Discoteque Crypt" and "The Illiterati," the latter of which was their final recording. They also released two EPs - "Revolver Modèle" and "Revolver."
