TEHMODHJIN is the brand new reincarnation of the black metal solo project formerly known as APHOTIC MORTIFICATION, and despite the name change the rules of improvising and no holds barred attitude still find their way into the music of this band. Birthed in the SF Bay Area in 2006 by Seth Bodhan, the vocalist for the now defunct death metal band ENEMY RISING, the beginning goal for this one man side project was meant to just be a simple black metal band...5 years later, while the original goal remains intact, the desire to explore and cultivate different realms, textures and atmospheres from all types of music is what helps complete and improve upon the original skeletal black metal structure. Besides employing just the standard guitar, drums and "metal vocals" to conjure up these compositions of intrigue, Seth also throws in other musical instruments...most recognizable, and others not so much.
The music itself, with tinges and hints of Indian and Middle Eastern flavored melodies, often weaves itself with various other musical genres, thus creating a harmonious force that is both punishing and eclectic. The music is both epic and simplistic simultaneously, whisking listeners to far off worlds that exist only in the imagination as well as expressing issues we all struggle with internally on a daily basis.
