In Wake of Betrayal (formerly Mersa) is a band from Sioux City Iowa.
Formed by guitarist Matt Murray in early 2008.
The band was rounded out by Luke Dreier on vocals in April of 2008, along with Kryger on Bass.
Dan Rolling joined Mersa on drums on July 23rd, 2008, and the band's first practice was July 25th 2008.

In Wake of Betrayal has toured the U.S. several times and have released 2 EP's. One as Mersa entitled, "Swimming With Sharks," EP.

In Wake of Betrayal is currently writing a full length, "Irene," set to be released in the winter of 2011.
