Padma Newsome is an experimental Australian composer and multi-instrumentalist, whose musical palette "expresses colors of the modernist avant garde, folk music from India" alongside chamber pop sensibilities.

In addition to arranging strings and touring with other artists, Newsome has a large body of work with his own group Clogs, and a long-running involvement with The National with whom he has worked on records and tours since 2003.
