Sharks In Your Mouth Lyrics

If i ruled the earth
Id sail ships over seas untill sundown
Then id return
In dark to walk these streets alone

By day i hear the serpents calling me
This leads me from the shore in search of the deepest abyss
I am forever covering my tracks, and standing here with less than an existance
Though i hold the key to everthing

This sinking feeling never dies
I'll chase my sunset laced with pride in this heartless gallion

Although id rather fill my lungs and rapidly decend
And lay with my thoughts under bleak starlight
I'll keep on pushing through perpetual darkness
Then in hell i'll seek my confidence ...

Then id return, in dark to walk these streets alone, The
Twilight here wont embrace my words like waves do
The feel of dry land is making me sick
So i stand here coughing up sharks till
My neon glowing neck breaks

This sinking feeling never dies
I'll chase my sunset laced with pride in this heartless gallion

Walking through the dark here's to a new beginning
Its time to bow your heads to
A nations swinging axe
While you search for answers planted in the ground

Im happy watching you, dance your legs down to your knees
Im happy watching you, be infatuated with love
Im happy watching you ... watching you Die

This war with myself never ends
This war with myself never ...

The only way id return is to an orchestra of wolves
The only way id return ... if i ruled the earth

I Killed the Prom Queen is an Australian melodic metalcore band which formed in 2000 in Adelaide, South Australia with mainstays JJ Peters on drums and Jona Weinhofen on guitar. The band featured prominently on the Australian live music scene and toured the USA, Japan and parts of Europe several times. They issued two studio albums, When Goodbye Means Forever... (2003) and Music for the Recently Deceased (2006) – the latter reached the top 30 on the ARIA Albums Chart.

The group split up in April 2007 when Weinhofen joined United States band Bleeding Through and Peters joined Australian hardcore punk group Deez Nuts. I Killed the Prom Queen reformed to play a farewell tour in mid-2008 and released a live album and DVD, Sleepless Nights and City Lights, which peaked in the top 50. In May 2011, the band reformed for the Destroy Music Tour and indicated plans to work on a third studio album.
