Shiny Red Balloon Lyrics

I'm keeping my affair in a book
so this is how a villain feels
they're running seasons in my chest
and I'm only to keep them

Chorus:
Maybe it's not true
love on the TV
just like we imagine it
and it's so hard to do
when theres always some distraction
a shiny red balloon
that spoils everything

I'm keeping my affair in a book
such practical and harmless vice
but I'm feeling it could end up painfully
and the TV should apologize

Chorus:
Maybe it's not true
love on the TV
just like we imagine it
and it's so hard to do
when theres always some distraction
a shiny red balloon
that spoils everything

I'm keeping my affair in a book
my long and lonely compromise
how can you live like that my dear
well we do

love on the TV
just like we imagine it
and it's so hard to do
when theres always some distraction
a shiny red balloon
that spoils everything

Chorus:
Maybe it's not true
love on the TV
just like we imagine it
and it's so hard to do
when theres always some distraction
a shiny red balloon
that spoils everything

It spoils everything (7x)

Barbie's Cradle was a popular Filipino band, formed by Barbie Almalbis (guitarist, vocalist, and songwriter) and Franklin Benitez (drummer) from their previous band Hungry Young Poets. Rommel dela Cruz joined the group as bassist, and by 1999, drummer Wendell Garcia replaced Franklin.

In 2005, the group disbanded and Almalbis went on to pursue a solo career, while Rommel dela Cruz soon became the bassist of Freestyle (the original bassist migrated to Australia).

Hungry Young Poets (aka HYP) was founded in the Philippines as a duo in 1997 by Barbie Almalbis (guitarist, vocalist, and songwriter) and Ricci Gurango (bassist). After releasing their one self-titled album, Franklin Benitez (drummer) would officially complete the trio.

In 1998, Gurango left the band to lead cover band, Little Green Men,[1], before forming MOJOFLY. With Gurango's assertion of rights to the band's name, Almalbis and Benitez would later rename the group, Barbie's Cradle.
