Voted one of the top 3 best bands (and top folk band) in the 2010 Long Island Press readers' poll, Gathering Time is like a high-energy Peter, Paul & Mary or a co-ed Crosby, Stills & Nash, with various pieces of The Byrds, Joni Mitchell, the Eagles and America thrown in; a head-turning folk-rock harmony trio described recently as "getting a whole beehive-full of buzz" on the northeast regional folk scene.

Glen, Hillary & Stuart are fast becoming known for their seamless vocal blend, memorable melodies, meaningful lyrics and easy-going, fun, stage chemistry. Bob McKillop of MaineFolkMusic.com writes, "Gathering Time ... has perfected two separate but related art forms: three part harmony and having a ball on stage! When they harmonize, some sort of fundamental, cosmic concordance occurs that makes you very happy that you have ears.”

The trio has strong roots in '60s and '70s folk-rock as well as traditional folk, and has been known to sprinkle in some classics among its original songs.

WFUV's John Platt has written that Glen, Stuart and Hillary rank "among the finest performers in the New York metropolitan area, whatever the size of the venue, from a house concert to an outdoor festival," with "harmonies that can charm the birds out of the trees, strong original songs, and a savvy repertoire of cover songs, ranging from traditional folk to classic rock. They appeal to audiences of all ages."

Gathering Time’s spirited 2007 re-make of Peter Yarrow’s "Light One Candle" has been spun on stations ranging from NYC's top-rated WCBS-FM to Israel's Galilee plains; its debut CD Songs of Hope and Freedom (10/2008) won wide acceptance on folk stations nationwide for its tributes to the nobility and resilience of the human spirit. The trio is currently releasing singles from its follow-up CD, Red Apples and Gold [release date possibly June 2012], with themes of family, American history, culture, tradition, and harvest. Both CDs are on Inspireline/TrebleG Records, their own independent efforts.

In addition to its concerts of mainly original music, Gathering Time performs a startling array of specialty tribute shows in stunning harmony arrangements, such as "Great Folk-Rock Festival" (acoustic classics of the '60s & '70s), “Tribute to the Artists of Woodstock” (songs and trivia from/about the festival, bands and writers), “Beatles Love Songs in Harmony,” “Songs of Conscience,” “Living In Harmony” (a musical celebration of unity), “Songwriters Tribute” (A tip-of-the-hat to the great songwriters of GT’s favorite era, featuring their songs in their best-loved form: Bob Dylan as played by the Byrds; Laura Nyro as played by the Fifth Dimension and Blood, Sweat & Tears; Carole King as played by the Monkees and the Drifters [and herself]; and others who played their own hits, like Paul Simon), “Salute to ’70s Soft Rock,” “The California Sound,” “Jews Who Rock,” “Peter Paul & Mary ~ A Tribute,” “A Charles Dickens Winter Concert,” and more.
