Poison I.V. started with just Nate & Mike. They had been in bands together before & were tired of failures. This time they were serious. They soon recruited drummer, Tom Malloy & long time friend, Mike Smith on bass. The original line - up didn't work, being that they had to practice at Tom's house (a religious household that didn't allow vulgarities), Tom's drums were too bland, & Mike Smith didn't know how to play bass. After some convincing from Mike, Nate agreed to let Aron join the band on bass. He had equipment, a car for them to transport theirs, & a basement to practice in. In the early days in Aron's basement, the three would switch off instruments because they didn't have a drummer. They recorded a rough tape after about two practices to see how they sounded. To say the least, it wasn't great. Mike's father soon after agreed to let them practice at his house. After 4 practices, Poison I.V. recorded a CD, called L I.V.E. Soon after the recording, Nate suggested that Brennan XIII, whom he had played in The Gravedancers with play drums. After one practice, the band could see that Brennan was the best possible choice for drummer. The band soon after ran in to problems. At that point, they had only played one show. An acoustic set, that consisted of Nate & Mike (the only two members at the time) playing four songs. They needed shows & the weirdest things kept going wrong with every show that they booked. One venue had actually closed down a couple of weeks before the date of their show. Their musical ability & taste was growing. They changed their style into something more polished. Poison I.V. finally played their first show at Liam's Place, a bar in Wilkes-Barre in August of 2008 with their friend, Leppy singing as a guest on a few songs. After the show, Leppy joined the band. They decided to record "Death Ride" & the "We Didn't Write This" EP. They recorded the albums live. They finished recording & mixing the two of them in a total of 14 hours. After the release of the album, Aron left the band & was replaced by Ronnie Byorn (Shock Value). Ronnie left the band after a few months over a dispute & was replaced by Mike Wolak (Spirit Juice). ..
