Jed’s Dead is a Los Angeles based band that creates a dark blend of country rock and alternative roots music that they call “Folk-Noir.” The band has gradually expanded its sound outside the confines of alt-country, while still honoring the Americana tradition. Jed's Dead crafts songs that range from twangy, blues rockers to brooding, acoustic ballads with a touch of black humor.

The Jed’s Dead debut album, “You’ve Already Won, Babydoll” was produced by Grammy Award winning producer Thomas Skarupa.

The first single from the album, “A Girl from Texas” was mixed by multi-platinum producer Val Garay.

Jed’s Dead has shared the stage with national acts and local roots rock favorites such as Dead Rock West, The High Strung, Rancho Deluxe, and Bucksworth.

Jed's Dead songs have appeared in the feature films Sibling Rivalry and The Phobic. And the band appears as themselves in the feature film Butterfly.

Edward Romero lived and worked as a singer/songwriter in Europe for six years before moving to Los Angeles in 2003.

Matthew Thies has worked as a touring performer since the age of 13. His song “Real Man” has appeared on VH-1’s Strange Love.

Dave Wharton and Mo Sosnow are husband and wife and former members of The Heymakers.

Johnny Hawthorn is a celebrated multi-instrumentalist who tours regularly with Toad the Wet Sprocket.
