Born under the full moon when Ronald Reagan was still occupying the White House, Jack Carter came into the World with a penchant for playing music on the road, from the very beginning. Raised in a military-style religion as a young man, he traveled around the US and abroad as part of a large brass band, while also learning to play various other instruments, later jumping around from North Carolina, to anywhere music took him, including Oklahoma, California, Georgia, Arizona and Kentucky. In 2009, Jack met fellow musician Adam Arcuragi (staple of NPR, Paste, American Songwriter), and soon became an integral part of his band, The Lupine Chorale Society, playing lap steel guitar, banjo, piano, percussion, and a variety of other instruments. Since that time, they toured every corner of the lower 48 and over 12 countries overseas, playing to crowds from sea to shining sea, and learning the tricks of the trade.

After recording the critically acclaimed "Like a fire that consumes all before it..." with Arcuragi, Carter headed to the countryside of North Carolina to begin putting together a new project of his own material. Fellow Chorale member, Harrison Barrow, was drafted along with veteran Carolina musicians Randy Seals and Doug Pike to form THE ARMORY. A step away from the roots/folk vein that Jack has been known for, the direction shifted to a more dynamic and electric side of music, also known as 'rock and roll'. In a country where the profitable industry is war, the Armory aim to provide a soundtrack to such explosively foreboding times. Much as the old idiom "The pen is mightier than the sword" states, Jack Carter and the Armory are out to prove that it just might be the song, that is mightier than the machine gun.
