Ian Page is English and was born in Rochdale, Lancashire. His early musical influences were wide, ranging from the rock & pop of the 50's and 60's to classical piano from his grandmother who used to play for the silent cinema in the early 20th century.

This site contains a few of his vocal performances - sometimes with his own instrumental backing - and are mostly of traditional folk music of the British Isles, augmented with some more contemporary songs in a similar vein. His early influences in the folk genre came from the Rochdale Folk Club in the 1960's and particularly from locals Harry Boardman and Mike Harding, though he was only as a listener at this time. He came back to the folk scene in the mid 1990's as a performer in Oxford. He plays and sings in the local folk clubs and pub sessions 'just for fun' and as respite from work. Read more on Last.fm.
