Chris Broach is a lifelong musician. He was introduced to punk and hardcore music via skateboarding with friends in the neighborhood where he grew up. What followed was a love for punk and independent music of all kinds. He made a connection to independent music through local bands, local basement and VFW Hall shows, and local labels in the Chicagoland area in his early teens. In high school, he studied music arrangement and was introduced to jazz by a teacher. Though classically trained in music early on, he learned to play electric guitar by ear starting at the age of 16. He played in local bands opening for local acts like Cap’n Jazz and Gauge, and solidified his legacy in the punk scene as a guitarist and co-singer of the influential indie / emo act Braid which he joined the same week he started college in Urbana, IL. He’s also released music and toured with The Firebird Band, L’Spaerow, The Blakhiv, Life at Sea and SNST. His music has appeared in your ears, on television, in movies, advertisements, etc.

His experience working in many different studio environments led him to music production on his own, in his home, and at other studios. He started Lucid Records and put out records for his own bands as well as other notable acts like The Blackouts (Champaign-Urbana, IL.), Thunderlip, and many others. He now runs Mass Energy and City at Night Rx where he produces, records, mixes, masters, and releases records. Read more on Last.fm.
