Perth based lyricist, Trooth is an artist who can honestly say he has seen the darker side to life.

Taking up poetry at the age of 12 (which resulted in freestyling and rapping at the age of 15) Trooth’s teenage years was rife with the negative and darker aspects of life.

Deciding that he did not want to live in this way, Trooth moved to Melbourne in 2001 which helped pave the way for the honest rapper and saw him study acting. At the same time he met Trumpnotics, an LA native who was the based in the city. As a producer Trumpnotics took the wide-eyed rapper under his wing and taught him that there was more to hip hop than just what is projected into homes through the media – there was a whole other aspect to the culture that was for the better of all mankind.

After being ‘shown the light’ Trooth believes now that hip hop is not only one of “the revolutionary tools of mankind” but it also can be used as a freedom of expression with no rules or boundaries. In a world of society’s restrictions – hip hop is his liberation.

Citing 2pac, Immortal Technique, Talib Kweli, Kanye West, Martin Luther King, Malcolm X, Linkin Park and Evanescence as some of his versatile inspirations, Trooth has already completed a mixtape which has been launched. Getting U Junkdafied is the perfect introduction for Trooth, allowing him to tell his story through his rhymes.

Next for the rapper is his EP launch of “TOO HIGH,” coming this February, as well as a number of acting roles.

Trooth’s main philosophy in life is to “be true to yourself and your art” and without discovering this, the 27-year old rapper would not have overcome the hardships and virtues that plagued his teens, to which Trooth is truly grateful for.

As he discovered - with Trooth lies the key to a whole new beginning. Are you ready to discover yours?
