"MUCC also know as MUKKU are a J-rock band formed in '97. The band's name was originally by Miya, was the name of a character on a popular japanese children's show Ponkickies. The band is also known as 69 since six-nine is pronounced "muku" in japanese. In '97 the band was formed in Ibaraki and went by the name MUCC (not MUKKU). The original line up was TATTOO (Tatsuro) as vocals, Miya on guitar, HIRO on bass, and Satochi on drums. In '98 two demo tapes were distributed "NO?!", and "Tsubasa wo Kudasai". Then "Aika" was released on Misshitsu Neurose records. In '99 Bassist HIRO left the band and was replaced by YUKKE, Miya's childhood friend. Their second demotape "Shuuka" was released, and "Aka" was distributed in a series of lives. In December their first CD album was released(Antiiku). In 2000 the band had their first interview it a monthly publication of FOOL's MATE, issue 221. TATTOO changed his name to Tatsurou, and the band's name changed from MUCC to MUKKU. On 6/9/2000 (9 June, known as MUCC day), They released their first [CD] single "Shoufu/Hai" and the second press of "Antiiku" In January '01 the group puts out their first full album "Tsuuzetsu". A remixed and remastered version of this album was released later in June titled "Tsuuzetsu~inshouchigai~" Two More singles were released in July "Akaban" and "Aoban", then a mini album in December (Aishuu). In 2002, Mucc started their own label under dangercrue records (Shu), under which they released a new maxi-single "Fu wo tataeru uta", during which a fan club "Shuu no to" was formed. On 6/9 a single was released (Suisou) and sold by the fans themselves at Like an Edison in Shinjuku. On 9/6(reverse MUCC day) a second album, "Homurauta", was released. The first press of the album quickly sold out, so a second press was released the following month, which included the bands first promotional video for "Zetsubo". About Tatsurou: Tatsurou tends to stress about his apperance the most. Before shows he spends a lot of time on his make-up(his mother works in a beauty parlor maybe that's why). The members describe him as very naughty, especially joke wise, but stress he is very kind at heart. They also describe him as sloppy. For example he doesn't close the toilet lid or wash his hands after he uses the bathroom. And when he visit's other members homes he doesn't remove his shoes. YUKKE is the onw always coming up with crazy ideas when theres nothing else to do. He's very childish and always stresses that he is not an adult. According to Satochi, YUKKE is a very skilled cook and always smell nice. He is very organized and keep everything in order and tidy. In school Miya really wanted to play the drums but his parent thought them too noisy and big so they told him to pick up guitar instead. His parents were also music teachers so maybe that would explain his talent. He listened to a lot of classical in youth and is keen on the piano. The memeber describe Miya as scary. Sometimes Miya will just make wierd noises(that...could be scary). They say he is always up early and shouts "good moooorniiing" with a gaping smile on his face(I guess he's a morning person). He doesn't say much at shows or during interviews, and his friend seem to be the most important to him. When he has free time he'll always go back to Ibaraki and visit old friends. The members describe him as girly and clean, cleanliness is important to him. He's also a sports fan. He likes to fish surf and play basketball. In school he was on the basketball A team.
