Violet Lea was born in Nuhremburg, Germany, but was en route to settle at her destination as a red-blooded and proud Texan, where she spent her first eighteen years growing up in a small-town on a farm near Austin.
She earned her degree in musical performance from Texas Tech University. Although her emphasis was in vocal performance (choir, opera) in college, Lea quickly figured out that she wanted to write her own music and sing her own style.
She began playing small shows of original music in different bars and coffee shops, and participated in songwriting and talent competitions while beginning to record her repertoire in a studio in Acuff, Texas, the same studio in which other talented artists such as The Dixie Chicks, Cary Swinney, the Maines Brothers, Richard Buckner, etc... have laid down their tracks. It was at this studio that she met the locally well-known Anthony Garcia. The two began playing shows together and have even produced an album, Year of the Renegade Children, under their groupname Poko Lambro. They have taken their show across the USA and even abroad, being aired not only from the east and west coast USA but also featured in Seoul and Busan South Korea and parts of Europe.
Violet was raised in a musical household-given her first piano at 4 years old and first guitar at 8 and growing up with parents that both played and sing, it is no surprise that writing, singing, and performing comes naturally to her. She has also dabbled with the mandolin, harmonica, bass, and the impossible kazoo. She tried to play "balloon base" but failed miserably.
She is currently traveling around the world, meeting as many interesting people as possible. Her and partner Anthony Garcia are currently finishing their second CD together- a double album entitled East & West. She is also working on her own acoustic music on the side while reading as many books as possible, polishing her guitar skills, and defeating an impressive chain fantasy RPG games. She is the proud owner of three cats: Martie, Little Cat, and Ninja.
