Johnny was born in Glendale, California. He became interested in music by experimenting with his parents old upright piano at the age of two. Johnny moved to the San Fernando Valley when he was thirteen, became a studio musician at the age of 16, and played the Valley/Beverly Hills circuit for many years as a very sought-after musician. Like many very talented pianists, Johnny never learned to read music. His mother tried to give him lessons, but all of his prospective teachers warned that the skill of music reading may very well ruin his God-given ear. They were apparently right, because as time went by, Johnny became better and better at his craft as you will hear when you listen to his music.
