Ilana Avital was born in Paris in February, 18, 1960. She began to sing at early age in France.

She moved to Israel at the age of ten. Several years later (1977), She launched a musical career with her famous song "you" (otcha). At the same year she participated for Israel in a song festival in Chile.

Her first album was released at the same year, when she was only 17.5 years old. In 1980 she moved with her husbend/manager to Canada, there she lived for a year. In that year she released her second album in French (the first album was in Hebrew).

The track "adios amigos" from this album reached the top of the pops in Canada....

In 1984, Ilana participated in the French pre-eurovision festival and reached the second place.

During the years Ilana participated in various song contest in Israel, appeared in many television programs, did some modelling, appeared in t.v. series and movie pictures, released a children book and several albums (she singing in Hebrew, French & English & One song in Russian).
