One of many projects associated with enigmatic British artist Dean Blunt, Blue Iverson is an excursion into smooth R&B and funk. The project's debut release, Hotep, was recorded in Los Angeles with several studio musicians, including guitarist Jeff Gitelman (of the Stepkids) as well as vocalists Jennah Bell and Akua. Blunt produced and mixed the release, in addition to playing guitar, drums, and keyboards. The brief album has a very relaxed, laid-back feel, sounding far more straightforward than much of Blunt's work. Hotep was released as a free download in 2017, and was subsequently issued on vinyl by Benji B's Deviation label, albeit with a slightly altered track list. ~ Paul Simpson Read more on Last.fm.
