Black Sun Alchemy is a Ft. Lauderdale, Fl based band formed in 2008. They released their self titled demo in 2010 and are currently touring the U.S. in support of their album.

Black Sun Alchemy came into existence September 2008 when former members (Merc and Chewie) of Michigan based band (Ghostyle) collaborated with J (former member of Palm Bay based band Void of Faith) and (Denns) a long time New York and local Florida musician.

Merc and Chewie had been talking over the phone for months about a new project for South Florida in the earlier months of 2008. Merc, who was living in Fort Lauderdale at the time, was renting out an office space which was converted over to a studio for music production. Merc and J had met outside the studio one day, as J was working on the roof for his boss that owned the building. Merc asked J if he would be interested in playing guitar in this new project. J took up the offer as time passed when bumping into Merc months later at a local Blockbuster Store.

Chewie then took the big step of leaving family, friends, a job, and his home state Michigan, and moved to Fort Lauderdale to pursue his music career. On the first practice session, Chewie and J met and immediately connected musically and also on a Star Wars level that many will never understand! Dennis, who had played drums in the past with Merc, would stop by to almost every practice and sometimes bring paper towels, soap, shit paper, etc. (we never understood this)….and to enjoy the music and budhiston atmosphere. Dennis was later on offered and became the added percussionist for the band, which is known as Black Sun Alchemy.
