We are the Brave is the latest synth-pop duo to come out of the currently flourishing Australian music scene.

The pair, comprised of established singer-songwriter Jess Chalker (long time friend and collaborator of UK artist, Passenger) and underground hip-hop producer Oxy has recently started playing around the traps in Sydney, packing out rooms like OAF's Gallery Bar with some exciting new bands, most recently Melbourne's 8 Bit Love, and Gnome (members ex-Kyu, and Megastick Fanfare).

Producing 80s-influenced bedroom pop similar in sound to the likes of MSMR, Bat for Lashes and Chairlift, We are the Brave was recently listed on taste-maker Who the Hell's latest mix tape as a local band to watch, with love continuing to trickle in from indie blogs like Sounds Better With Reverb, who commented on the band's "great sound" (the pair write, arrange and mix everything using mostly vintage gear in their home studios), and Chalker's "impressive vocals".

With a self-recorded, debut EP slated for a May/June release, We are the Brave is an act to watch over the coming year ahead. Gearing up for a busy 2013, the future looks bright for this duo.
