"CVGES is basically a way to express my musical alter ego" says Sarah Sylvia. "I've experimented with many different genres, bands & solo projects over the years & I was getting increasingly frustrated that one project had to sound one way & another had to sound different from that. I thought, "why can't I just write without having the restrictions of a genre or past project turning up to haunt me?" That's what CVGES is all about."

Having made her initial mark on Irish television with an appearance on "The Voice of Ireland", Sarah began to showcase her unique sound leaving the audience both captivated & intrigued. "I don't think anyone had really heard a musician quite like me on Irish television before. I went on the show knowing there would be mixed reactions & some slight confusion...but I also knew it would help me connect with fans that tend to listen to music that isn't typically on the radio or the charts. That's what sold it for me."

Continuing on to the live finals of "The Voice of Ireland", Sarah gained high praise from the late Dolores O'Riordan (The Cranberries) citing her voice as "powerful yet vulnerable" adding "Sarah Sylvia will be successful regardless of what happens on the show".

Sarah continued to play shows extensively throughout Ireland, England & Germany hoping to find inspiration towards her sound. "Despite playing live constantly, I was still in a rut. I didn't know who I was or what I wanted to do musically. It got really depressing after awhile & that's when I decided to take a break. I became a music teacher & figured I needed a new outlet for writing so I learned how to play the harp. Then all these songs started pouring out of me. It was amazing to feel that freedom again, like I wasn't caged anymore. It all started coming together & that's been the inspiration for this project. I've fallen in love with music all over again."

CVGES first single, "St. Vincent" is a preview of their forthcoming EP and is now available. "The really fun part of this project, for me, is that no one knows how it's going to sound or what route we're going to take, writing wise. That's how it should be. I miss the mystery in music. I miss the mystique in the performance. These days people are so busy documenting everything that nothing is private anymore.
