Starry Night Lyrics

Lying on my back i feel you breathing
Sucking down the ghosts into your sleep
There's something in your spine that makes me nervous
And the black that swells between us grows more deep
I cut the world in chords making melodies from words and i'm confused again
Take all this abuse because i ain't got much to lose

It's a starry starry night out here on hope street
But hope gives way to hunger when you're poor
And with pockets full of promises and poems
I know that you ain't worth much anymore
Spoke in broken time crooked rhythms twisted rhymes and i'm confused again
Paint my world in blue because i've never liked to lose

I don't think I want to spend another night with you
I don't think I want to spend another day feeling the way you leave me to

Standing in the half light of the morning
I watch the shadows lace across my shoes
There's something in your voice that makes me nervous
If i can tell we're lying why can't you?
The song that's in my head is playing backwards in this bed and i'm confused again
Seems like i have to choose it feels like either way I lose

I don't think I want to spend another night with you
I don't think I want to spend another day feeling the way you leave me to

I don't think I want to spend another night with you
I don't think I want to spend another day feeling the way you leave me to

I don't think I want to spend another night with you
(feeling the way you leave me)
I don't think I want to spend another night with you
(feeling the way you leave me)
I don't think I want to spend another night with you
(feeling the way you leave me)

Zox

Zox are an alternative rock group from Providence, Rhode Island, United States who formed in 2002. The band consists of Eli Miller (vocals, guitar), John Zox (drums), Spencer Swain (violin), and Dan Edinberg (bass, keyboards).

The band got its first big break in the BRU Rock Hunt, an annual Battle of the Bands run by Providence commercial alternative/indie rock station 95.5 WBRU.

They have an uncanny ability to blend rock - from new wave to progressive - with ska, punk balladry, and a bit of baroque into something highly original. Miller's direct and personal songwriting derives from an unquestionable pop sensibility, while the band's sophisticated arrangements and intricate instrumentals give their songs an expansive and psychedelic edge. The band further distinguishes itself by using the electric violin as a lead instrument. Described by The Village Voice as "a cross between Eddie Van Halen and Papa John Creach," violinist Spencer Swain adds swirling textures and searing melodies that range from the pretty to the profane.

Members of the band include Eli Miller (Vocals/Guitar), John Zox (Drums/Percussion), Spencer Swain (Violin/Vocals), and Dan Edinberg (Bass/Vocals/Keys). Former members include Eli Batalion.

Currently, the band has produced three albums: Take Me Home which was released by Armo Records in 2003, The Wait which was released by SideOneDummy Records in 2006 and Line in the Sand which was released by SideOneDummy Records in 2008. The band quietly disbanded in 2009, reuniting for concerts at Lupo's in their hometown of Providence in August 2011 and October 2014.
