Ty Bru has been professionally active in the independent music scene for a decade. A 2005 graduate of Appalachian State University, Bru reached new heights by attaining a total of 5 degrees including International Business, Communication, Marketing, Journalism and Management.

Shortly after graduation, Bru went on a small summer tour through many European countries, France , Ireland , Switzerland , England , Belgium and Holland . Later in 2005, Bru moved to China for a business career, but always incorporated live weekly sets at Club Hollywood in Suzhou , verifying that Bru was destined to rap.

After moving back to Asheboro in 2006, Bru immediately began working on shows, recordings and writing as a full time passion.

In, 2007 his debut solo album, “On The Brink” was released through Mightier Than The Sword Records, making a tremendous impact worldwide by boasting the honor of being chosen by a distinguished panel of judges as the runner up for hip hop/rap album of the year at the 7 annual Independent Music Awards (IMAs).

Bru’s unforgettable, energetic and original up close and personal performances put him in a class all by himself as he has earned the right to share the stage with such names as Chuck D(Public Enemy), Jedi Mind Tricks, MC Frontalot, Avril Lavigne (Shanghai),Andre 3000 (In Europe), Ludacris, Nappy Roots, Snoop Dogg, Linkin Park (Shanghai),Wiz Khalifa, Coolio, Ying Yang Twinz, Bubba Sparxxx, Dana Dane and more.

In 2009, Bru released his second solo album, “Heart Core Hip Hop” which created an immediate buzz thanks to the success of “On The Brink.” With main production by one of Germany ’s most elite producers, Czientist, the album creates more of a worldwide international flavor, proving Ty Bru is exactly “The Way Hip Hop Should Be.” Read more on Last.fm.
