Thermal and a Quarter, often abbreveated as TAAQ, is a Bangalore, India based rock band formed in 1996. The band consists of Bruce Lee Mani (guitars and vocals), Rajeev Rajagopal (drums) and Prakash KN (bass). Jason Zacharaiah (keyboards), Ravi Kulur (flute) and Prakash Sontakke (slide guitars and vocals) occasionally accompany the band during live shows.

In Thermal and a Quarter's 16-year career, it has earned quite a reputation for fusing diverse styles into their rock music, from Indian classical music to jazz and funk. The band has released four albums to date: the self-titled debut in 1999, Jupiter Cafe in 2002 and subsequently Plan B (2006) and This Is It (2009). The band has toured quite a lot in recent years and has gained quite a fan following from all over the world.

Thermal and a Quarter's fourth full-length album This Is It was mixed by Multiple Grammy Award winning producer/engineer Jeff Peters (who has worked with the likes of The Beach Boys, Ringo Starr, Sarah Brightman, and Brian Setzer). The album earned itself a 3 1/2 star review from Rolling Stone Magazine.

The band has since released a few singles available for free on their Reverbnation page. March 2012 will see them tour USA and Singapore playing new songs and garnering new fans.

The name 'Thermal and a quarter' is a word play on Three Mallus and a quarter Mallu. (Mallu = someone speaking Malayalam/a native of Kerala,India) referring to the members' native state.
