Koschei was formed when Ewan and Callum decided to come together to form another band. The duo had been in a band together a few months before called "Black Watch", but the band didn't get very far and did not even have a gig to their name. Deciding to try again, Ewan and Callum started putting up adverts in music shops around Bath to get the members required to create the band that they wanted. After several interviews a bassist, Alex, called Ewan and met up with the two.

The trio gelled and the band began to take shape. However despite several interviews and one unfortunate case where a guitarist was hired, but had to leave to live in Oxford, the band wouldn't be complete until September when Callum got a call from a musician named Joe. Although Joe originally tried for guitar, he decided that the band would benefit from his talents as a drummer, more than his guitar-playing. Finally, Ewan called a guitarist he had met at a party and Simon "Smiler" was brought in. The band had now got a complete line-up, and the music from the rain began.

Unfortunately, a while later, following internal problems between himself and the band, Joe decided to depart, leaving Koschei temporarily without a drummer.

After some time searching for a new drummer, Josh "Buda" Harris agreed to join the band. But once again, fate turned on us and he was forced to move away and therefore has to leave the band after only one gig!

Eventually after much searching, another drummer appeared. Dan, the latest addition to Koschei, continues to work with the band to produce a studio recording and new material.

However, the drama doesn't stop there...Smiles has departed from his position as Guitarist for Koschei...

Finally, after very little searching, Koschei approached Dhenaku (Josh Downing, Black Mage's Brother) with the idea of assimilating him into the band as second Guitarist...

The final dramatic episode that Koschei underwent, was the loss of Bassist and web-designer, Alex following the "Sacrifice Unto Baal" gig at the porterbutt. Another loss in the lineup did not dampen the spirits of the remaining members who were desperate to get back onto the stage again as soon as possible. A few new songs were written, and finally in December, "Max" a very talented bassist was recruited. After just one practice with him, everything fell straight into place and the band finally had a completely stable lineup for the first time in months.

Fenrir has finally returned, louder, more ferocious and considerably more metal than ever before...and it's about bloody time!
