Peter Thorup (14. december 1948 – 3. august 2007) : guitarist, singer, composer and producer. An icon on the danish blues scene.

Breakthrough in Beefeaters, later he played with Alexis Korner, in different constellations: New Church, CCS (abbrev. of The Collective Consciousness Society). and Snape.

In 1976 Peter Thorup returned to Denmark, collaborating with Povl Dissing & Sebastian. In 1978 he released the acclaimed album "Rejsen til Kina" .

Peter Thorup revered in the blues-tradition, but also took more commercial steps into rock and pop esp. in production work. He had a big pop hit (in DK) with "Skibe uden sejl" a duet with Anne Grete Rendtorff in 1984.

His releases in later years were sporadic, but he continued to work in blues clubs until the end.
